The Innovators LAB is our collaborative makerspace where we work with local artists and experts from various fields to create a design challenge to nurture creativity, problem solving, skill building, and learning.

We offer both “drop in” and “scheduled” workshops.

Learn how to build cool robots using cells, wheels, sensors, electric motors and much more!
Code cool robots of all shapes, sizes and functions using our our advanced Arduino boards.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW), San Diego State University's College of Engineering, SDSU's College of Engineering Femineer Program, and Qualcomm are proud to present the Spring 2018 Girls Day Out: Middle School Edition just for you on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 1pm-4pm at San Diego State University. Student workshops will include hands-on STEM activities. Parent workshops will include information on PLTW scholarships and opportunities, SDSU's College of Engineering Femineer Program, and various other STEM programs and opportunities in San Diego. Join us for an afternoon of hands-on science experiments, technology, and fun! Students will rotate around five stations, each one focusing on a different letter of S.T.E.A.M.

San Diego Miramar College will host a free science festival on Saturday March 3rd, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. for kids from 5 to 99 at its Mira Mesa Campus (10440 Black Mountain Road). The Miramar College science faculty, staff and students will present a morning filled with hands-on lab activities. All ages are welcome and this is a free event with free parking on campus! This event is part of the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering's Festival Week events, taking place around San Diego County from March 3rd-11th, 2018.

“From Bach To Rock" – March 8th-9th, 2018 Concerts at 9:30 & 11:30 a.m. @The Historic Balboa Theatre
A closer look at the original rock star of the classical world. Classics 4 Kids will detail the profile of J.S. Bach and how this historical figure continues to influence the music trends of today. Join the Festival of Science & Engineering and the Quartyard for a Taco Tuesday version of Think, Drink, Science. Learn about some of the interesting work being researched by graduate students at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. Grab a beer and check out some cool science experiments, and have a taco too!  No RSVP needed. This event is open to the public.  Suggested donation of $10 for event pint glass.

Learn and experience STEM through interactive booths run by Sweetwater's own high school students! Interactive booths will include: Science of dry ice, Maker Space wind tunnel, non-Newtonian Slime, Science of Sand and Polymers, and more! In addition, you can see a 3D printer in action, learn how biodeisel is made, play puzzle games, pet some reptiles, see some awesome robots, and much more!
