Lilly and SBP institute will join booths under a partnership between the two organizations. We will create a series of hands-on, interactive or observational learning opportunities for a diverse audience, primarily (not exclusively) targeting pre-K, grad and middle school. Attendees will walk through different learning stations revolving around the concept of DNA structure and function, and effect of its modifications in biological models. Temporary tattoos, other giveaways will be available.
Math games and learning activities brought to you by your 20 San Diego area Mathnasium learning centers.
Robolink was established in 2012 in San Diego, California to encourage students to engage with STEM. We make fun and approachable robotics kits that bring computer science to life and teach real industry competency. They’re also at the cutting edge of technology! Our mission: make STEM education accessible, engaging, and fun for all. We teach programming and artificial intelligence through our robots, work with teachers all over the world, and ship kits to (almost) all seven continents.
We will showcase the versatility of carbon dioxide (CO2)
Guests can experience fun and interactive technologies involving secure communications that have the ability to find signals from friendly targets, a lesson in electro-mechanical design in the field of transportation and see what it’s like to virtually take a seat in a real U.S. fighter aircraft cockpit.
Highly interactive booth with discussions covering the physics of nuclear fusion, states of matter (particularly plasma!), magnetism, and electrical power generation. Demonstrations will include the coldest volcano on Earth, electromagnetic launching of aluminum cans, cork launching via rapid expansion of gas, electromagnets, and plasma formation using a hand-held high voltage source and gas-filled tubes.
Ever wonder what you’d look like as a scientist? Stop by our booth to take a “scientist selfie.” Get your own lab coat (while supplies last), add science-themed stickers or drawings, grab some lab gear and get a photo that’s yours to keep. Meet Eurofins scientists to learn how they test products you use, and how you can become a scientist too.
NDIA Exhibit booth goals are to have students learn about technology needed within DoD from our industry partners and military including Navy Diving Helmets, Robotics, a variety of electronic tools, lights, and lasers. NDIA members talk to the students and parents about careers in STEM and provided helpful information based on their real-world experience. Together we help awaken a greater interest in STEM and STEM education.
It takes true community spirit and engagement to build a successful Festival Week and momentum to support ongoing programs. Our mission is to provide meaningful year-round STEAM experiences for youth and adults alike in San Diego, and throughout the state of CA through our virtual platform.
