University of San Diego STEM Outreach Club
The mission of our club is to bring hands-on, brains-on activities to our K-12 community. We will collaborate with other science clubs from USD to bring a range of activities showcasing chemistry, biology, physics, engineering and medical science.
The Jacobs Institute for Innovation in Education
Our booth will include various activities for families to participate together, including origami to learn mathematics in a fun way, greeting cards with circuits that light them up, weaving fun, and other innovative technology-based activities for people of all ages to enjoy.

In discussion, likely a Monarch Butterfly lifecycle activity using pasta!

The Curiosity Cube is a retrofitted shipping container, transformed into a mobile science lab. It features interactive hands-on science experiments using the latest technology to spark curiosity in the next generation of scientists. The Curiosity Cube program began in North America in 2017 as a platform to increase access to science education for 8-13 year old students. Our experiments are led by local MilliporeSigma employees, giving students an opportunity to learn from real scientists.
Neurocrine Biosciences
Neurocrine is joining the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering to help educate the San Diego community on some of the fun things we work on!
We will have 2 fun crafts/activities for family's and kids to take home with them!
We will have information about Neurocrine, opportunities available at the organization, as well as internship program insights!

Biodiesel & Algal Studies Group
Since 2009 Castle Park High students, with Dr. Pomeroy of UCSD, have learned to produce biodiesel from vegetable oil. Our booth demonstrates the step-by-step process of biodiesel synthesis, discusses the advantages of biodiesel over petroleum and outlines the ease of production. Our booth includes CAICE researchers who provide demonstrations concerning climate change and atmospheric chemistry. We also partner with Algenesis who demonstrate biodegradable materials that mimic plastics and foams.
Pure Water San Diego
Pure Water San Diego is part of the Public Utility Department's project for Potable Reuse. We have a prize wheel and many giveaways including a youth activity booklet.

Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair
Student Leadership Board students from the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair will present demonstrations and lead hands on activities in:
1) Building a simple helicopter from paper and paper clips.
2) Cabbage Juice as a pH indicator
3) Separating pen ink colors using simple chromatography
For students grades 6-12 they will talk participating in the Greater San Diego Science Fair in 2026, as well. There will be backboards and notebooks from previous Fairs.
